I’ll Never Lose Her Now

She woke up fumblin'---lookin' for another cover---

she said her feet were cold.

I know I should get up---the pilot light's out again---

but I lay here listenin' to this December wind.

And all she knows is she can’t lose me now.

When I was younger I used to dream---I used to wonder---

tryin' to picture this.

I never imagined this kind of achin' cold---

I don't know how it happened, but we're finally gettin' old.

And all I know is I can't lose her now.

Interlude

The early mornin' city sounds---through our window---

bring me back again.

The frost in the air was never quite like this---

and closing my eyes as it carries me off in bliss---

all I know is I'll won’t lose her now.

All I know is I'll won’t lose her now.

This is from my latest album "The Sandhill Waltz" which is a collection of songs from my days in Minnnesota and Kansas City. It was written by my brother Dwight. The original version was written years ago- approximately '81, 82 and then recently in the past 7 years or so has been re-written and

polished up a bit lyrically. I'm playing my Gibson lg3 for both the lead and second guitar parts.
