I recently got third place at the Topanga Banjo and Fiddle Contest in the intermediate
banjo contest! It was a lot of fun! I performed "Cascade Creek", which is a tune my brother Dwight and I wrote and which can be downloaded here at music: page one.

My "Bears" song just won second place for the Walnut Valley Festival's
“New Song Showcase Contest” for the humorous song category. Walnut Valley,
commonly known as Winfield, is arguably the biggest and greatest bluegrass/folk
music festival in the world and the contest had hundreds of entries so to get second
place is a great honor! If you’re a bluegrass and acoustic music enthusiast, it’s one
Festival you’ve got to go too at least once!
