Country Bumpkin from “The Sandhill Waltz”
Sittin' in the corn
She and I
Watchin' the geese
Fly on by in the sky up above
Together in love
Oh she's my pumpkin
And I'm her country bumpkin
Walkin' below
A blue harvest moon
Down by the lake
We heard a loon that was crooning a toon
Above to the moon
Oh yes she's pumpkin
And I'm her country bumpkin
Will she still need me
When I'm far away
Should any doubts about her
Care to come my way
Walkin' along
An old gravel road
We found a toad
And let it go in the road oh no
The car squished the toad
Oh but she's by pumpkin
And I'm her country bumpkin

This is one of the earliest songs I wrote when I lived back in Minneapolis. I added the second verse a few years later when I was living in Kansas City. It's played using an open G6 tuning I think it is.
